Hi everybody.

I have a 634 backlit lcd, version 1.3. I have it mounted in a box on my desk and I would like to fit manual controls on the box to alter brightness and contrast.

I plan on using a regulator to control the 5V led supply for brightness contol, but i am unsure on how to control the contrast.
Are there any solder pads on the pcb for an external pot?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm. We went to all that trouble to make it software adjustable, and now you just want hardware!

Well, the regulator should work for the backlight as you suggest. For the contrast (this will void your warranty) you would need to remove R8, and then connect the wiper of a 10K pot to the rightmost terminal of RT1:

Connect the other terminals of the pot to +5v and Ground.

Thanks, that's exactly what i need. :) Your support is just as good as the products. :)

Sorry about the wasted effort, but I won the display in a case modding competition so I could hardly leave it as standard. ;)

Thanks again for your help.
