i am new to modding comptuer cases, but i am looking for a LCD 20x4 that is blue negative. (i think i said that right .. black background with blue characters)

i know in the mod that is posted around the internet as well this forum that the guy mounted a external lcd screen on a mic stand he used a polorizor screen... does anyone know where i can get one?

can i use the blue lcd screen and use it in replacment of the 20x2 serial screen that you can get here?



my ulimate goal is to be able to use the software that is availiable for serial LCD's but with a blue negative screen 20x4
please let me know of any ideas you may have.

can you change the backlight color on the 20x4 LCD screen useing say a blue LED or multiple blue led's ?? this is an additon to the previous post i made. anyone with ideas? i'd hate to buy this screen and find out i can't do what i want.

Some LCD colours all done by replacing backlight LEDs :) (all done using very bright single leds).

A light blue led (1500mcd)

I made my own.

Ingrediants:

1 cheapie bgmicro 20x4 green/black positive transmission
1 1x3 inch el sheet and inverter
1 piece of polorizing film.
lots of free time.

I took a look at bgMICRO and saw their lcd display for around 5 bucks.

Are those anygood ??
What is this inverter thing that it says you need to make it backlit.

bgmicro ones work fine youll just have to wire them up yourself
to get it backlit, you need an inverter and some el sheet
