The CFA-10006 Demonstration Board Kits have everything you need to easily demonstrate and experiment with a Crystalfontz LCD module. The CFA-10006 Demonstration Board is compatible with Crystalfontz graphics LCD modules that use a Samsung S6B0107 / S6B0108 controller (formerly KS0107 / KS0108).

The display is a critical component in every project.

The display impacts the case, the firmware, the electrical design, the user interface, and even battery life. By its design, the display is a very visible part of the product--so it must be approved by the mechanical design team, management and marketing.

A graphic display can greatly improve a product's looks and functionality, but it often takes days or weeks to get a graphic display connected to your platform, initialized, and to get enough of a graphic code library to create a believable demonstration for your management.

Meanwhile, the whole project is on hold.

The CFA-10006 demonstration and evaluation board is one way to solve this problem.

You can order any compatible Crystalfontz display with the CFA-10006 demonstration board, and we will attach the display to the demonstration board, load a demonstration script on the SD card, and ship it to you ready to go. All you need to do is plug the included power supply into the wall, and the display is ready to be shown.

The utility of the CFA-10006 does not end at wowing your boss. You can easily modify the miniBASIC scripts and bitmaps on the microSD card to make your own test screens, or even to model user interface functions. All that is needed is the included microSD USB reader, a text editor (notepad will do), an image editor (mspaint will do), and a simple, open-source format conversion utility (Image2Code) that we supply.

Beyond demos, the CFA-10006 also allows you to easily measure current of the different portions of the circuit under operation. The schematic, bill of materials, and even the PCB layout is available for download from our site (and as always, no registration is required). All the design materials are available before purchase. There is no risk of being surprised late in the design.

The CFA-10006 is preprogrammed with a microSD boot loader. You can load on our "super simple" C example code, the miniBASIC interpreter, or you can build your own application for the CFA-10006's versatile ATMEGA2561 using AVRStudio and WinAVR (both are free). There is a JTAG port for more advanced programming and debugging. We have brought out all the ports to 0.1" centers. In fact, the CFA-10006 is so versatile, that you may elect to use it as a base development platform for your project.
