CFA634 Family Characteristics:
Large easy-to-read LCD in a compact size can display 20 characters x 4 lines. Overall module size is 130.00 mm, width x 63.00 mm height x 19.90 mm depth (5.12" x 2.48" x 0.78"). Character height is 7.30 mm (0.29").
Attractive stainless steel bezel.
Optional PC CDROM mounting bracket with three choices of overlay to fit two 5.25" wide bays is available.
The CFA634 family has four colors choices:
CFA634-TFH-Kx: White edge-lit LED backlight with positive STN transflective mode. Displays dark (near-black) characters on light (near-white) background. The display can be read in normal office lighting, in dark areas, and
in bright sunlight.
CFA634-TMI-Kx: White edge-lit LED backlight with negative STN transmissive mode LCD. Displays light (nearwhite) characters on a blue background. The display can be read in normal office lighting and in dark areas. May be difficult to read in direct sunlight.
CFA634-YDI-Kx: Yellow-green array LED backlight with negative FFSTN transmissive mode LCD. Displays yellow-green characters on a dark (near-black) background. The display can be read in normal office lighting and in dark areas. May be difficult to read in direct sunlight.
CFA634-YFH-Kx: Yellow-green array LED backlight with positive FSTN transflective mode LCD. Displays dark (near-black) characters on yellow-green background. The display can be read in normal office lighting, in dark areas, and in bright sunlight.
Use any of six interfaces on any module in the CFA634 family by simply changing the interface selection in a command and using the appropriate jumper configurations.
The displays have a 6 o’clock viewing angle (polarizer viewing direction).
Adjustable contrast. The module’s default contrast value will be acceptable for many applications. If necessary, you can adjust the contrast by using control function.
The modules have a RockWorks RW1067 controller.
Extended voltage (9-15 volts for interfaces using DB9 connector) and 5 volts power inputs standard for the controller.
Backlight is 5 volts only.
Use the nonvolatile memory capability (EEPROM) to customize the “power-on” display settings.
Wide temperature range for operation is -20°C to +70°C.

Reverted the SPI functionality to Crystalfontz CFA634 legacy implementation where the MISO line is used as a busy indicator instead of the module's unused transmit line. Firmware will migrate from v3.1.5 to v3.1.6.
To maintain legacy functionality.

In a continuation of product improvement the CFA634 series has the following improvements:
Wide temperature support with -20°C to +70°C operation / -30°C to +80°C storage
The bezel changed from black painted metal to stainless steel. Stainless steel has lower environmental impact and improves ESD protection. If your design has the bezel exposed, it will show the silver color of the stainless steel rather than the previous painted black bezel.
The previous CFA634-YMC-KS and CFA634-YMC-KU (new CFA634-YDI-KS and CFA634-YDI-KU) changed from STN to double negative (FFSTN) LCD for improved appearance.
Firmware revision to match hardware revision and is now displayed on the boot screen
Improvements in design allow for better manufacturing, ESD protection, and appearance.
The new version is designed to be Fit, Form, and Function compatible with previous versions of the CFA634 series. Semi-Custom and Defined Parts will have updated part numbers.
