Reflective LCD Displays
Reflective LCD displays use ambient light reflected off the rear polarizer to illuminate the display, eliminating the need for a backlight entirely. This makes them ideal for outdoor, battery-powered, and sunlight-readable applications where low power consumption and high visibility in bright light are priorities.
Because there is no backlight, reflective LCDs are not readable in dark environments. If you need visibility in both bright and dark conditions, consider a transflective LCD instead.
