These guys are actually really solid. I've been buying displays from them for various projects since 2006 (!!) and I have never been disappointed. My last order arrived ahead of schedule, despite everything that's going on.
PS. Really digging the contrast and clarity on the white backlight option! The photo doesn't do it justice (and I haven't peeled the film off the glass yet).

As for the products, CrystalFontz LCDs are the classic example of quality premium offerings. Definitely not competing on price, but they're built to last and well-supported, both by CrystalFontz and third-party tools.

I called tech support and was connected with Charlie Matthews. My question needed a bit of research, and Charlie completed the research and sent me a written summary in less than an hour. I told him it was not an emergency situation, but he responded very quickly. Excellent customer support!

Update 10/10/23: Charlie also sent us a no charge sample next day that we were quickly able to test to confirm we would not have any issues in our product. Could not be happier with the support provided.

Quick response, thank you; The solution was that the chip we are using is little endian, and the display is big endian. Swapping the ushort_16 byte order did the trick.

Very prompt and thorough reply from Chris Mathews of Crystalfontz. Unfortunately their 3.5" TFTs are not tested w/ Pi Zero W. But they offered to review our code, which is nice. Will probably go that route if no plug/play solution is available on market.
