This display module combines a 3" display with an embedded video engine (EVE) PCB for a powerful display module. The EVE PCB, powered by an FTDI/Bridgetek FT81x, accepts high-level commands, simplifying the creation of beautiful interfaces.

EVE Graphics Accelerator features include:
  • User interface design software by FTDI/Bridgetek to simplify the design process
  • Enhanced sketch processing
  • Anti-aliasing of primitive displayed objects
  • PWM output for display backlight dimming control

The TFT display included in this module is a 3" TFT with a resolution of 240x400.

We have everything you need to develop with the FTDI EVE platform including 12-inch 30-pin FPC cables, 6-inch 30-pin FPC cables and an EVE breakout board and any product support you may need.

The complete 3" 240x400 Full-Color EVE development kit for this module is also available. The development kit includes everything needed to get this display module working.

Summary: End-Of-Life Notification
Description: Some modifications are being made to the PCB design to improve reliability and manufacturability. The board cutout for the capacitive touch screen is being moved and the reset line to the EVE chip is being routed to the reset pin for the helper processor onboard.

The parts are being replaced as follows:
CFAF240400C0-030SC-A1-1 -> EOL and replace with CFA240400E1-030TC
CFAF240400C0-030SC-A1-2 -> EOL and replace with CFA240400E1-030TC-KIT
CFAF240400E0-030TN-A1-1 -> EOL and replace with CFA240400E1-030TN
CFAF240400E0-030TN-A1-2 -> EOL and replace with CFA240400E1-030TN-KIT
Reason: The current PCB design requires the capacitive touch screen FPC tail to be stretched and needs to be given more slack.

The reset line is not brought out to the helper processor on the current PCB revision so a reset toggle does not truly reset the whole system.

Description: The firmware is being updated to better manage the power down sequence.
Reason: If the power down was very short, it could cause the microcontroller to go into a weird state resulting in abnormal display operation.
