Daylight Readable DisplaysOne way to determine a displays daylight readability is brightness. It's said that any display that is between 500 and 700 nits (A nit is equal to one candela, or candlepower, per square meter.) is considered "daylight readable" and any displays above 700 nits can be considered "sunlight readable" (meaning you can still read them in direct "glaring" light.)
Of course there are other ways a display can be sunlight or daylight readable without emitting more than 400 nits and that's with their reflective or transflective polarizers, but that's a different subject.
